I have a pretty big pile of adjectives to describe this day with. Remember this engagement shoot? Alex and Olivia like to celebrate big and with style. It was extraordinary in the truest sense of the word, with Olivia's minimalistic, stunning gown, to their group first look, to the the most dazzling first dance. It blew us away. Alex was literally throwing and spinning Olivia around, the two of them having the biggest smiles on their faces. They were the perfect balance of being able to pose for a smoldering portrait and being able to laugh and be wild with one another. The energy and joy was unreal. I loved the romantic look that shooting on this windy day created. It was classic and elegant.
Every detail was thought through so perfectly, and they photographed so well. Their day was filled with family and friendship, putting a big emphasis on fun for all, and a love for family and God. St. Mary's Cathedral was filled with powerful music, and many in the pews closed their eyes just to listen. I loved the colors and the striking architecture. The pillars and blue accents were so visually compelling, and my eyes filled with tears during Olivia's powerful walk down the aisle.
Olivia and Alex were so fun to photograph for many reasons, not just that I love them deeply as a couple, but also because of their free-spirited hearts and the way they interact with one another. I was able to watch their relationship begin and then grow as Olivia and I have been close for many years. They took their dating so seriously, and as their commitment grew so did Olivia. I was able to watch as Alex helped her become more confident through his love, and in so she became even more beautiful. Come and see their lovely day unfold.
When the music hit just right, and the moment became real, Olivia was overwhelmed with emotion. I love the look on her face as she holds tight to her dad and looks into the eyes of her groom.
